Loops 🍑 :audhd: :ir:<p>Finding ways to make every line / queue *mobility* accessible has this odd way of making things less accessible for some folks.</p><p>I personally need quiet, less crowded places., where I can take my time. The reason that the disability line works for me is because it's not "with everyone else". When you take that away, you make your airport, convention, gig, etc. *less* accessible to me.</p><p>Optimising to the point of "isn't this great! We don't need a dedicated lane any more", tells me:</p><p>- you really only think of disability as physical<br>- you are less willing to meet people where they are (deciding the issue is 'fixed' based on own criteria vs. listening to patrons)<br>- you're possibly just trying to tick a box that says "this is accessible", without understanding what it means</p><p>"BUT Loops, having separate things for varied needs costs more." Yes. Yes it does.</p><p>I just don't see that as a gotcha.</p><p>As long as you're profitable overall, arguing that it's too expensive to provide accessibility is literally trading off peoples' needs for profits. Accessibility IS variety.</p><p><a href="https://neurodifferent.me/tags/a11y" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>a11y</span></a> <a href="https://neurodifferent.me/tags/Airports" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Airports</span></a> <a href="https://neurodifferent.me/tags/EventManagement" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EventManagement</span></a> <a href="https://neurodifferent.me/tags/AccessibleCity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AccessibleCity</span></a> <a href="https://neurodifferent.me/tags/conventions" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>conventions</span></a></p>
