All you need to do is think of a game you'd like to make, join the Jam, then start creating!There are plenty of game engines and game-creating software that's absolutely FREE to use (Godot, Unreal, GB Studio, Source, etc. - I wouldn't recommend Unity, but it *is* an option).You can also start completely from scratch (you daredevil, you)! Python, C++, HTML5, and Java are some of the coding bases that make up a big majority of games available today.
