Hey everyone, I'm a physics PhD student getting back into more active hobby projects! I've been around Google+, stackexchanges, etc. with various usernames, so I see a lot of familiar faces on here!

Thanks for reading, have a free random walk looping zoom for your trouble.

Also:

ln(√3+√3+√3) = ln(√3)+ln(√3)+ln(√3)

and:

ln(Φ+2+Φ) = ln(Φ)+ln(2)+ln(Φ)

and many more!

I learned this from Burkhart Polster's cool piece about Heron's formula, so for details watch this:

@ColinTheMathmo

ln(1+2+3)=ln(1)+ln(2)+ln(3)

I just found out Norman Megill, author of metamath, passed away at age 71 last December. Quite sad to hear.

Also I feel old, my first implementation of the shunting yard algo was 11 years ago. You'd think it would be easy now, but nope, it's still annoying to deal with unary operators, precedence, and functions.

No one's animated the shunting yard algorithm with cute little train pictures??? This is a glaring omission on your part, internet...

Learning pure mathematics is a bit like being bewitched and turned into a bird. It's an amazing experience. But when you try to tell everyone about it, they don't understand a word you're saying. Most of them walk right by.

Mathstodon.xyz? icosahedron.website? Come on, now you're just making up domain names.
