@claesdevreese American universities offered refuge to European scholars before WWII. John von Neumann, Albert Einstein, Enrico Fermi and others fled from Europe to U.S. to escape fascism and nazism. Now it seems to be the other way round. @johncarlosbaez already moved to Scotland early on. "Over 6,100 US citizens applied for British citizenship last year, the highest number recorded since data collection began two decades ago – a 26 per cent rise from 2023."
