@dougmerritt @smashedratonpress I have to say, the Catholic Church is not the one I’d expect to make such a good argument about imbalanced distribution of power.

A very unhappy people, yes, everywhere they tried to perch belonged to Castle Sugar, Incorporated, or the Catholic Church.

Though I am also under the impression that a lot of widely distributed [sic] beliefs about the rennaisance period are sort of corporate-plutocrat tellings of that period as the dark times before their modern ascension.
