I've enjoyed playing @streetcomplete lately, but I've realised that since my edits are public, it completely doxxes me to anyone who can find my account.
Is there any way around that?
@christianp Looking at the issue tracker for @streetcomplete it seems to be quite a hard problem to solve. OSM doesn't want anonymous edits, and almost regardless of how you randomize or shuffle your data, it's going to be relatively easy to reconstruct your movements and who you are. It's simply a fact of the matter from recording and posting that sort of positional data.
So the short answer seems to be "no" unfortunately. Chedk out this issue for some more discussion: https://github.com/streetcomplete/StreetComplete/issues/3507
@christianp Hey! You can select to only upload your contributions if you're on wifi.
This will upload all your contributions in one large batch, making only the covered area observable, but not individual motions.
If you want, you can also hold uploads back completely and only upload contributions from time to time.
@streetcomplete thanks, but I don't think that really solves the problem in a meaningful way - no matter when I upload my changes, I'm concentrating on the area around where I live since its easiest to get to
@christianp sure. But that's a general issue with editing in a single area in OSM.
Change address.
