We regulate the use of bulldozers, explosives, fertilisers, etc., because despite their social utility, they have the potential to cause havoc in the wrong hands. Likewise, the use of #AI must be #regulated.
@AmenZwa And so it begins... This guy wasn't a spy or a gangster, he was just some regular schmoe that used off-the-shelf technology to mess up an enemy's life.
I don't see use cases for AI mimics (not ones that justify the investment and effort people are spending.)

@carapace "Follow the money", as we Americans are fond of saying in many aspects of our lives.
@AmenZwa That's what I mean, as far as I can see there's no money in it (AI mimicry) other than for spies and criminals.
@carapace There is always some gain somewhere for someone—even not pecuniary gains, some notoriety gains indirectly translate to money by some means. Just look at the open-source movement.
