`Ward #papastew Coun. @michaeljanz.bsky.social said Wednesday it’s a confusing system and allows the provincial government to raise taxes without taking the blame.'

`“When Edmontonians open up their tax bill and they see a big jump, they need to understand that’s not going to snow removal, that’s not going to potholes, that’s not going to police, that’s not going to fire, that’s going to Premier Smith."'

It doesn’t matter who you voted for. You still have the opportunity to come together and find common ground with people who voted differently. Thanks to everyone who came out to today’s Community Conversation at Sopranos to meet new people, learn from each other, and eat pizza! #yeg #yegcc

Every morning this week has started with a "pinch me" moment as I've tapped my (temporary) badge and walked out onto the second floor of City Hall from the elevator.

I'm thrilled - and humbled - to be able to support my Councillor and my community in this new capacity.

I've struggled with "impostor syndrome" this week, but I'm sure that will pass.

It's weird to think that the hashtag #yegcc directly includes me now.

The City of Edmonton has declared today, March 21, as Save Soil Day. I was at City Hall for the presentation of the official proclamation, and to speak to the gathered group about our recent Senate report on soil health. Tomorrow, the Save Soil group hosts a free double-bill at Campus Saint-Jean theatre: first, the documentary film Common Ground, followed by a one-woman show by Dale Hamilton called She Won’t Come in From the Fields. #yeg #yegcc #Edmonton #SenateofCanada #ualberta #SoilHealth

It has been quite clear - for a long time - that Edmonton Police Commission is *not* an oversight body to the EPS, but has been captured (as so many oversight and regulatory bodies in Alberta are) and functions as a shield and shill for the police.

Meanwhile both EPS *and* EPC have been combative and obstructive with Council when they have tried to step up to the plate and fill the accountability void.
