Børge<p>If anyone liked my idea, I made an issue for it and would appreciate a thumbs up :)</p><p>Please lower threshold for battery warning on peripherals</p><p><a href="https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/upower/upower/-/issues/293" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gitlab.freedesktop.org/upower/</span><span class="invisible">upower/-/issues/293</span></a></p><p><a href="https://tutoteket.no/tags/gnome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gnome</span></a> <a href="https://tutoteket.no/tags/upower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>upower</span></a></p>
Børge<p>Unfortunately I have no idea where in the <a href="https://tutoteket.no/tags/Gnome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Gnome</span></a> gitlab I should go to see if anyone has raised this issue before, or create a new issue. Settings? That can't be right? Is it even Gnome that decides the threshold, or is it <a href="https://tutoteket.no/tags/upower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>upower</span></a>? idk</p>

Elias Probst<p>The secondary <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/battery" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>battery</span></a> of my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LenovoThinkpad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LenovoThinkpad</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/T460s" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>T460s</span></a> was completely dead, which somehow confused the whole battery management and it just turned off after 3 minutes, even when the primary battery still had a sufficient charge left.<br>Replaced now both and after 3 full charge/discharge cycles for initial calibration, <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/UPower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>UPower</span></a> reports the secondary battery now at only 77% capacity left, which I'd expected after 500-600 cycles or so.</p><p>Where do those numbers come from? UPower itself? Battery internal?</p>
David Bremner<p>Dear <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/LazyFedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>LazyFedi</span></a> </p><p>I run a &quot;minimal&quot; <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/Debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Debian</span></a> system based on <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/i3wm" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>i3wm</span></a>, but I&#39;d like my laptop to suspend or shutdown when the battery power gets too low, to avoid running the battery right to zero. What is a reasonable to do this? <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/upower" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>upower</span></a> seems like it might be part of the answer, but it seems like it is mainly glue to provide non-root users the ability to suspend etc...</p>
