If you're using an ultra-wide angle lens and there's nothing interesting in the foreground at the beach, try slowing down your shutter speed (you may need an ND filter). This will allow you to capture the movement of the water, creating a dynamic and engaging foreground. Point Ronald, Victoria, Australia.

Today’s #SURF ”Deeper Talk” on microearthquakes, and the effort to relate quake strength to the properties of injected fluid and the way rock properties change under injection conditions, was really interesting.

We had 15 people turn out just at the lab to listen to the seminar. One SNOLAB scientist asked a question at the end.

Looking forward to hosting more such “science exchange” events. I’m trying to figure out of, for example, our partner universities broadcast their seminars.

To increase #knowledge and #community exchange between underground labs, I am trying to make sure that folks at #SNOLAB can participate in seminars hosted at other labs. Not all labs stream them, but some do.

Tomorrow, the Sanford Underground Research Facility has its next "Deeper Talk" event. Folks at @snolabscience.bsky.social can gather in the auditorium at 11am ET on Wednesday to watch!
