I've reinstalled Slackware and now I'm on "stable".
I'm trying to install docker, and I see that I need to install runc and containerd, but I'm getting this error whien trying to compile runc (I'm using sbopkg for all of these packages.
(Also, I am using alien and multilib)

Any ideas?

Normally in a humorous way, I'd say "Use Slackware!" 😄

But honestly, I really get what you mean. The BSD crowd tends to be more about sharing experiences and letting you explore, rather than pushing their own favorites. It's refreshing. On the Linux side, even saying "I'm trying something new" can start a 12-way distro war in the comments 😂

Still, if someone asks me about Linux distros, I will sneak in a "have you tried Slackware?"—because hey, tradition! 😉

Slackware-current just adopted #OpenSSH 10.0.p1 & #OpenSSL 3.5

n/openssh-10.0p1-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. Potentially-incompatible changes include the removal of the weak DSA signature algorithm, completing the deprecation process that began in 2015 (when DSA was disabled by default) and repeatedly warned over the last 12 months.

n/openssl-3.5.0-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. New LTS release, supported until 08 Apr 2030.

@volkerdi I'm sure you've heard about Mozilla's changes in their privacy policy for Firefox (it's old news, but still). The implications of it have prompted a few distros to remove Firefox from their repos/default installation.

What's the game plan for Slackware? Will it keep using Firefox by default, or will you be phasing it out of the package tree, or what?

Hit a snag on the #Slackware laptop here at work that has a small eMMC (~20 GB). After an update yesterday, it ran out of space. Thus, I've had to remove KDE Plasma and likely will stick with a window manager or use Xfce instead. Was thinking of installing MATE from Slackbuilds using sbotools, but our org is blocking github which is what sbotools uses. :flan_eyeroll:
