Ships in the Mediterranean must now use cleaner fuel with lower sulphur content, as the sea on Thursday becomes the world’s fifth low-emissions zone.

Reducing sulphur emissions is expected to improve air and water quality and benefit human and environmental health.

I drive the bridge multiple times a week. Sometimes multiple times a day. I love the feeling of coming east and leaving the western shore behind. The #Chesapeakebay Bridge is often called the scariest #bridge in the US. They say that the older eastbound span is particularly frightening. There’s a curve in the road on the ascent to the bridge’s highest point that can make it seem like you’re driving off the edge. The bridge’s highest sections are exposed to the elements and often hit by storms. In bad weather, visibility can be so poor that land is invisible. High winds will shut down the bridge. Low, open barriers allow you to see the water far below. Giant #ships travel through daily.
