The latest @inkscape release was published yesterday, #Inktober 13th. V1.4 comes packed with great new features, for all desktop & laptop computers, for YOU, for FREE.

Over the last decade #Inkscape became the most powerful & popular vector illustration software for digital artists, tech nerds, and professionals in most areas. @wikipedia is more than just one of them. Challenging giant IT corporations like #Adobe, #Autodesk & #Corel was just a question of time and community support with talented and dedicated developers like @doctormo.

Live path effects are mind blowing, not just since V1.0. Most powerful IMHO is the ability to change perspectives soo easy, while many people can't even shift theirs in real life. However, Version 1.3 catched up with #shapebuilder functions and multi-page support. Now in context of the latest #Filter & #Font browsers, #FlattenTheCurve is virtually applied onto the #eLearningCurve for newcomers and long time UX.

After #Serif was taken over by #evanto lately, it's great news for former Affinity Designer, new & old Inkscape artists that #afdesign files are supported out of the box now. And there is soo much more for YOUsers to enjoy and explore...

When the #shapeBuilder was in development in #Inkscape last year, I immediately saw it was useful for selecting the pattern lines in sewing patterns, like neckline options, and for a while, that was it.
But since then, I often use it to join broken paths together, and found it's good for joining back post-alterations shapes too, so less to no tracing is needed.
Would be cool to be able to include empty spaces between the paths in the future; still needed some cleaning ;) #projectorSewing
