Anyone know if n8n is good as a self-hosted replacement for IFTTT and if it supports mastodon or bluesky?

I've been reading into it since it is self hostable, but some of the AI crap tied to the youtube videos showing it off are turning me off the service. I really don't need that stuff, I just want the ability to link up distinct events from one site to another for my own management using workflows #selfhosted #social_media #mastodon #meta

Another entry in the niche blog post chronicles: How to install Guacamole for remote desktop connections to Kali Linux.

This is a combo post with both context and guide. Its also the first in a series on migrating from Vagrant/VMWare/Ansible to Proxmox/OpenTofu/Ansible. In it I work through some issues of building Guac on Ubuntu 24.04 and installing TigerVNC on Kali.

This post is a stepping stone on the way to resolving the issue of frequent Kali crashes, though I think of it as only a preparatory step as it deals with a niche issue where SPICE doesn't work for me on Proxmox. I hope to get on to the IaC stuff soon.

Every once in a while, I read my old blog posts that link to other articles or blogs. 99% of those sites are now offline or show a domain-for-sale page. It kind of makes me sad. Most of my own websites are still online after 20+ years. I wonder why they gave up.

That being said, this instance will be online forever - I'll make sure of it. Even after my passing, I want it to live on. My websites have survived even when hosting companies went bankrupt, and so will this instance.
