Yes, it's only the start of February, but here is the first, early sign of spring: the annual guide for Scotland's Gardens Scheme has arrived, and Clive Penguin is delighted, because he's "blooming freezing (his words).

It's a bit of an annual tradition for us to shout out the first appearance of the annual Gardens guide, it really is like a sign that spring will come (even in Scotland!)

Well, the huge storm yesterday scuppered plans for our Jackie Kay and Jill Calder event to launch Coorie Doon, but fortunately we were all able to reschedule for this evening. And by coincidence this meant welcoming one of Scotland's leading poets on #BurnsNight ! How perfect!

Enjoyed a podcast I discovered where two Aussies read the Culture novels of Iain M Banks. Just finished their coverage of his first, Consider Phlebas. I still have 9/14 of his SF books to read (Only 3/14 non SF to read, I find those shorter, simpler and thus easier to digest).
I do ideally like a shorter book with shorter chapters that alternate viewpoints, keeps my attention better. RIP #iainmbanks #iainbanks #sfgiants #novels #books #scotland #scottishbooks
