I think it did in part to prepare students for grad school, but also so everyone (even business majors) would learn to think critically and ask good questions of everything.</p><p>It also introduced me to rigorous proofs through the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Putman" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Putman</span></a> competition, which I think every undergrad should study for and do.
