That Deaf GuyThe main cabinet and drawers were found in a very sorry state (absolutely knackered!) on a roadside verge. Stripped it all down, reinforced then painted and waxed with new drawer hardwear.I made the table top from two reused oak shelves, dowelled, glued, clamped, sawn, stripped and 'antique' waxed.The legs were found in the attic, again stripped and 'antique' waxed.Not impressed with the Fired Earth paint, going to have to seal it with clear furniture wax tomorrow. It's much looser stuff than the typical locktite and it tends to make a mess.I'm debating just dribbling locktite (regular CA) on top of the screws as well to try to make them a little more permanent. Eva the sewing historianI made a new dress from a 1970s table cloth today. No pictures of the finished dress, because I had to leave for our Full Moon celebration before I could have any taken. But you can see the trick tat I use when I need to gather a lot of fabric, especially if it's a stiffer fabric: zig-zag stitch over cotton yarn, and then pulling the yarn to gather the fabric. My mum taught me this . If you want very neat gathers you should go with the standard two rows of gathering stitches, and then sewing between them, but this is even enough for most projects. Im Sommer 2023 haben wir Herrn Kuhnke von einem <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Abfallhof" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Abfallhof</a> gerettet, er sollte einfach entsorgt werden. Das konnten wir natürlich nicht zulassen und haben ihn sofort eingestellt. Herr Kuhnke ist noch ein klassischer <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Teddy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Teddy</a> mit Gelenken an den Armen und Beinen. Er ist sicherlich schon sehr alt.
