Have any of y'all started #LGBTQIA2S + groups at your #church (or other #religious groups)? If so, advice wanted please!

A few of us from my #FriendsMeeting are gonna do lunch after our Meeting on Sunday to discuss starting one, with the blessing of the Clerk.

So far, I have a notebook with some #queries and brainstorming & have reached out to FLGBTQ.org

It's difficult to know what to recommend; you haven't said why you want this data in an SQL database, or what the shape of the raw data is.

Is the data highly #structured, with defined #relationships and #keys? Do you need to do structured #queries using those relationships? If so, then yes, an SQL #database might be a good way to go - and it wouldn't take a lot of Python to do so.

Otherwise, it would help if you explained what the #data are, and what you're trying to do with them.

Chris here radiki.dev/posts/functional-qu takes an interesting take on rethinking #databases #queries. In #Glowdust functions are used for storing data. Together with user defined types and functions on those, he presents a way to build higher-order ~functions~ queries by folds. Now this is especially useful by anything recursive.

Until now, I found #Glowdust interesting, but hard to grasp.
That what @chrisg now presented makes it tangible for me.

radiki.dev · Database queries, functional styleCan your database do folds? Mine can (sort of), and I’m gonna brag about it.

But this is #belied by their own #example. They talk about the #attester having to handle "billion-qps traffic" - that's a #billion #queries per #second.

No open-source #project, non-commercial #browser, #community #organization, or virtually anyone else whose business isn't based on tracking, abusing, and selling web users is going to be able to stand up a service like that. It would be economically impossible.
