Hannah<p>Obligatory semester end/start plug our book post. It's intro programming in Python w/ a "what do you want to do?, here's what you need to know?" approach Application driven motivation w/ theory driven scaffolding, rooted in communal/collaborative pedagogy. <br><a href="https://www.cambridge.org/highereducation/books/an-introduction-to-python-programming-for-scientists-and-engineers/271C02A02E8B775066316E92A68E187A#overview" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">cambridge.org/highereducation/</span><span class="invisible">books/an-introduction-to-python-programming-for-scientists-and-engineers/271C02A02E8B775066316E92A68E187A#overview</span></a></p><p><a href="https://vis.social/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a> <a href="https://vis.social/tags/ProgrammingBook" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ProgrammingBook</span></a> <a href="https://vis.social/tags/TeachingComputerScience" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TeachingComputerScience</span></a></p>
Stephen Gruppetta<p>One of my (many) 2023 plans is to add finishing touches to ThePythonCodingBook.com and make it available in some other format, too:</p><ul> <li>ebook only</li> <li>self-published book</li> <li>published via a publisher</li></ul><p>My preference is the latter but publishers shy away from beginners’ books…</p><p>I’d need to spend time carefully pitching to them why I think it’s different from other books. Not sure I can justify time to do that</p><p>More thinking needed</p><p>In the meantime, the content is all there for beginners to enjoy, and many have done just that</p><p><a href="https://qoto.org/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a> <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/programming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>programming</span></a> <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/coding" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>coding</span></a> <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/LearnPython" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LearnPython</span></a> <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/LearnToCode" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LearnToCode</span></a> <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/CodingBook" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CodingBook</span></a> <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/ProgrammingBook" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ProgrammingBook</span></a></p><p><a href="https://thepythoncodingbook.com/what-people-think-about-the-python-coding-book/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">thepythoncodingbook.com/what-p</span><span class="invisible">eople-think-about-the-python-coding-book/</span></a></p>
