We were trying to use cryptpad.fr as source for #prav bye-laws since odt is internally a zipped xml and we could store xml in git and also provide a visual diff via track changes option in cryptpad.
But everytime cryptpad exports an odt, it assigns a random name to every style making diff for even simple changes very huge.
Any volunteers to convert that to mardown or another decent source format which offer to track changes and can be easily exported to html / pdf ?

@debacle @alienghic After many days of discussions, we have come up with a strategy that is acceptable to both ATM and Cross Signing proponents. We think we can implement Cross Signing as an optional add on to ATM. Eventually this separation could allow using OpenPGP keys or DIDs (decentralized identifiers) as identity keys.

@prav wants to reach out to people directly through presence at various events. We talk about #privacy, #Federation / #xmpp and #FreeSoftware. We can do this sustainably at scale only if we are able to support volunteers going to these events by covering their travel, accommodation and food expenses. Or we have a large pool of volunteers so we have someone nearby to any event.

So please donate or volunteer if you can at

We have been at many events already. #prav

We need your help to clarify some sections of #prav bye-laws. We have received feedback that some sections are unclear or confusing. You can see specific feedback in codeberg.org/prav/bye-laws/iss

You only need good English language skills to help in many of those issues.

You can see the current #byelaws at
prav.app/blog/finalising-our-b

You can also review and share your feedback as issues. Please let us know if you are unable to understand some sections.

@erebion at #Prav we are looking for donations opencollective.com/pravapp We go to conferences in many cities across India and promote #xmpp so we'd like to support people traveling to these events and also print flyers, stickers etc.

Also we run an #xmpp service that is integrated into the app to provide a #Signal / #WhatsApp like onboarding experience (you only need to enter a phone number). So we need to pay for hosting and sms charges too.

@vort3 @ravi Basically you only need to tell your contacts 'Install #Prav', they will know the rest of the drill from their #WhatsApp experience to start chatting with you. Now try the same with #Conversations. They will hestate to pay to install Conversations. Either you have to convince them it is worth the money or explain about #Fdroid. Try this experiment with 10 of your friends after you setup Prav account. Please share your experience.

@stefan @bjoern uh in terms of onboarding people there's #Prav and #Quicksy which are just "download it from the store and enter your phone number" which is especially helpful when the other person is far away or doesn't have time/patience to figure things out ⬇️

Both send people to specific servers, so you can't do the "pick *this* server" thing, but at least they've got one foot into the network. (For self-hosters, #Snikket is kinda similar with closed invites to your own server) :snikket:
