A friendly reminder to all (and, in particular, #PhD students): Like all weekends, the #Easter weekend is a great time to do a local back-up of all the important files on your computer. Don't just blindly trust the cloud. Aim for multiple copies in multiple places.

Daughter, PhD student in Australia and member of PhD student groups involving folks all around the world, has been warned (as have all the others) not to travel to or even via the USA for conferences without scrubbing ALL social media and private info (e-mail, etc).

This is government advice, not just students talking to students.

The world is going to have to align around the USA, rather than with it.
