It may have an ID: property, and you can add SCHEDULED:, DEADLINE:, and, CLOSED: properties, but they won't be recognized, so the equivalency only goes one way.</p><p>Tags also support inheritance, but schedules don't, so one has to put SCHEDULED: under each and every TODO in a Tasks-Week-of-yyyy-MM-dd.org file to get the agenda to work right.</p>

Add in <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/OrgRoamUI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OrgRoamUI</span></a> and you get a way to visualize and navigate all those files. Zetlekasten emphasizes very small, single topic, files, but there's no reason you have to use them they way. </p><p>It sounds like you're already most of the way there, but you might find that installing the org-roam package adds as few useful convenience features.</p><p><a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/PKM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PKM</span></a></p>

One hour and five minutes ago I sat down to add one line to a report; my 'fix' was a guess born of experience with <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Emacs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Emacs</span></a> things. What would reg'lar folk do? Take the day off?</p><p>I spend 10x the time (re)configuring-configuring computers to be functional than what I can spend using it to get things done.</p><p>I'll add that line now</p>

I still find it necessary to curate the content periodically (remove true transient notes, improve linkage, check and fix orphans).</p><p>Still not sure I'm using it 100% effectively. In <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/orgroam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>orgroam</span></a> I have the orgzly mirror tumbled into a bookmarked page where I periodically relocate notes not needed on my phone.</p><p>I DREAM of the day all of my notes are on only MY server, and only MY phone could access them. This is my compromise.</p>

This is one of many reasons why I dumped <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/Emacs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Emacs</span></a> for <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/jEdit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jEdit</span></a> ~20 years ago. </p><p>Unfortunately, jEdit never became a full Emacs replacement, but close enough, and plenty of others since that have improved the art. </p><p>I've only recently re-adopted Emacs for <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/OrgRoam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OrgRoam</span></a> and it has been deeply frustrating. At best Emacs is an editor toolkit, and org-roam a <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/PKM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PKM</span></a> toolkit, but I am persistent.</p>

It keeps generating errors when using it. The package was last maintained 8 years ago so I assume it's abandonware now.</p><p>Error I was seeing: </p><p>Wrong type argument: sequencep, #&lt;obarray n=1&gt;</p>

Last time I ventured into trying orgmode 9.7 it mangled my notes. Thanks in advance for any insight or recommendation</p>
