I'm looking for inspiration and ideas for new services to host on my Ubuntu Server instance. I have Pihole running, and I'm wondering what you guys who run Ubuntu Server in your #homelab have running in your servers?

#Linux #newbie Good morning world. So I have my laptop running Linux Mint. OK so far. When I add in my 2nd screen it all goes to pot! I can change the display resolutions on each to suit. BUT - now the mouse won't glide seamlessly across. Windows did this for me. How do I fix it please?

I have a #Linux #newbie question. I'm trying to upgrade to #Debian 12.10 from 12.9, but when I:

"sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade"

I get:

"E: The repository 'cdrom://[Debian GNU/Linux 12.8.0 _Bookworm_ - Official amd64 DVD Binary-1 with firmware 20241109-11:05] bookworm Release' does not have a Release file."

I *think* this means my system is set to check the ISO I installed from rather than from APT. Have I got that right? If so, how do I upgrade?

Somehow I am not made for reddit. A total newbie asked in r/debian for beginner advice. I recommended avoiding installing KDE and Gnome at the same time. Got shouted down, because - as one u/ put it - "All one has to do is learn the difference between meta packages and core desktops."
