‘Homegrowns are next’: Trump hopes to deport and jail U.S. citizens abroad
"The homegrowns are next, the homegrowns. You've got to build about five more places," Trump said to El Salvador's Nayib Bukele, an apparent reference to prison space that would be needed in El Salvador to house U.S. citizens.

Only condition is the people renounce their #US citizenship either instantly or as soon as they have attained another #citizenship (as #statelessness is a problem for the #stateless!)…
Sadly I'm not a #billionaire, cuz otherwise I would've done so and hired people to be able to do so.
Senior U.S. judge: Donald Trump’s executive order attempting to end birthright citizenship is “blatantly unconstitutional”
“I’ve been on the bench for over four decades, I can’t remember another case where the question presented is as clear as this one is. This is a blatantly unconstitutional order,” said Senior U.S. District Judge John Coughenour.
Cantwell and Murray say they’ll push for amendments as Senate gears up to debate deportation policy in Laken Riley Act
The Spokesman-Review's Orion Donovan Smith reached out to the offices of Washington State's United States Senators to discuss H.R. 29, which will be considered in the Senate after Democrats declined to filibuster it.
Farmer who voted for Trump hopes he won’t do what he promised
Kristi Noem is Trump's pick for Homeland Security, but some South Dakota residents warn she's failed her own citizens repeatedly. CNN’s Kyung Lah reports.
I'm curious when the park stewards at Waterloo Park will deem the new family of beavers a nuisance :(
I noticed a second significant dam being built and the new beaver pond is quite extensive and beautiful.
It's amazing how a new habitat has been created so soon after the park water system was re-engineered :D
... And this topic "Existenzrecht des Staates Israel" (right of existence of the State of Israel) doesn't appear among the Law paragraphs, but merely (hiding?) in a "decision of Upper House" = Beschluss des Bundesrates: Drucksache 647/23 from 2024-02-02.

Sorry, but you lost me, BRD.
Eingereichte Einbürgerungsgesuche: 1 von 5 (noch ca. 18 Monate für den Rest).
I find it interesting that the applicant‘s RAV record can be consulted in the examination. Many folks casually say RAV usage doesn’t matter, so this invites the question why it would be mentioned in the disclosure at all.
Senate’s bipartisan national security deal unveiled; House Republicans vow to nix it
It is unclear if the proposed agreement can pass in Congress’ upper chamber, but even if it does, it has no future in the House, top Republicans say. …
After a nail-biting two-year wait for foreigners in Germany, the government has passed its flagship bill to relax its citizenship and naturalisation laws.
In the second and third reading of the bill in the Bundestag on Friday, a majority of MPs voted to permit the holding of multiple nationalities in Germany, as well as
reducing residence requirements and
removing language barriers for over-67s.
All of the parties within Chancellor Olaf Scholz's three-party coalition - the Social Democrats (SPD), Greens and Free Democrats (FDP) - voted in favour of the law,
with MPs from the opposition Christian Democrats (CDU), Christian Social Union (CSU) and the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) voting against.

With almost 20k votes, 85% of the pro government telegram channel voted for deportation of all Afghans living in Iran.
Close to 30% of them were born in Iran and never been to Afghanistan.
But Iran doesn't have any #naturalization process, even for people who are more culturally and historically Iranian than most of Iranians.
The level of racism and hate towards Afghans in Iran is a shameful and sad reality of Iran that most people don't want to talk about it.
Made some progress in the process today. Received this by USCIS today.
#immigration #naturalization
One of the most rewarding experiences I have with the #LeagueofWomenVoters is registering new citizens at #naturalization ceremonies. New citizens walk out smiling and excited and are eager to #registertovote. Their enthusiasm is contagious. COVID significantly reduced the ceremonies and now many only distribute forms to be completed and mailed later. I miss it.
Excellent article on naturalizing/rewilding your garden, especially about what happens if you run into bylaw enforcement issues. Canadian focus, but relevant anywhere.
Where I live, we have a property standards bylaw that says lawns should be trimmed. At the same time, the county's climate change coordinator encourages letting the grass grow. I haven't had a bylaw complaint yet.

Germany wants to ease naturalization rules, but Switzerland is unlikely to follow.
What does one have to do to get a Swiss passport? While the Berlin government wants to lower the hurdles for applicants, Switzerland is sticking to its rules. German-speaking cantons in particular have high expectations of new citizens.
