The closure of #Technicolor marks the end of an era for #cinema and visual effects, with over 10,000 layoffs devastating the lives of #artists worldwide. Its subsidiaries #MPC, #TheMill, #Mikros Animation, and Technicolor #Games, were overwhelmed by this decision, leaving projects unfinished and the industry in turmoil. The consequences will be felt for years, resulting in a loss of talent and prolonged instability for the #VFX sector.

Sad to hear the shutdown of #MPC #VFX. I had friends working in the Toronto and London offices. It’s an unfortunate end of an era. But the writings been on the wall for a while, with how #Technicolor ran these companies.

I also wrote a while back about analyzing my entire music
collection by year here https://jo-chestnut.neocities.org/mp3-year-analysis using exiftools and a ruby script. Last.fm has a similar measure for things you've listened to broken down by decade, so I kinda wanted to bucket it that way, just to see it a little differently. That's the second screenshot, made in numbers.app from exported csv data using the base data from that analysis.

for liboprf i try to implement the robust multiparty multiplication from Genarro,Rabin,Rabin '98. I struggle with implementing a check (the paper calls VSPS property). I asked the original authors 2 months ago, but they don't reply - i guess they're busy.
