Frank Herbert’s Book on Computers
Frank Herbert, of course, is the person who created and wrote the first Dune books. You remember Dune, don't you? Paul Atreides, Muad'Dib, Bene Gesserit, Baron Harkonen, etc? Notably, in the backstory to his sci-fi epic masterpiece, there was

It's here! Time to upset the Apple Fanboys!
Why the Apple II was Irrelevant outside the USA...
I ran across an archive of Byte Magazine, September 1975 through May 1994.
Very much related to something that happened yesterday xD #vintagecomputing #microbee #microcomputers
The Tektronix 4051 is a microcomputer from 1975, which, adjusted for inflation, would cost approximately €25,000 today
. It features a 1 MHz Motorola 6800 processor, with 8-32 KB of memory, and data can be stored on a "quarter-inch" tape drive with a capacity of 300 KB. Thanks to its unique cathode-ray tube, it can display graphics in a resolution of 1024x780

RaspPi Foundation have now made their own microcontroller for lower powered applications.
"Today, we’re launching our first microcontroller-class product: Raspberry Pi Pico. Priced at just $4, it is built on RP2040, a brand-new chip developed right here at Raspberry Pi."

This is cool. The BBC Micro bot running on Twitter. Submit your BBC Micro Model B BASIC code that fits in a tweet and it will return an animated gif showing the output.
I imagine doing it on Mastodon, with it's larger toot size, would enable more elaborate BASIC programs to be run.
Would be nice to extend it to the C64, ZX Spectrum, etc.

Living in the UK means that I can finally expand my collection of #microcomputers to include some of the amazing selection from the UK and Europe.
Plus, I can actually visit the @nvmuk@twitter.com instead of just bothering them on twitter!
