Think Less Photoshop, more MS Paint on Steroids. Although that's underselling it.

Is there any specialized tool to do something like this?
I have...actual thousands of old YouTube thumbnails. I would like to replace my old logos (a few actually) with my new one on existing thumbs, for a lot of reasons.
Seems like one of relatively few things all this "AI" crap should be good at, right...?
Basically an image find-replace. It's generally the same image just scaled sometimes rotated.

It is 2025 and my 17 year old proprietary photo editing software "Photo Impact" which has since been bought up and discontinued by Corel still has better font rendering and editing tools than Gimp.
I guess I'll just keep on using defunct software until someone can tell me anything better that is not made by a terrible greedy company.

Back in the day, "PC Paintbrush for Windows" used to be my favourite image editor. I kept using it well into the modern Windows 9x era. Only recently, I learned of its history as an MS-DOS application. There are plenty of interesting similarities!
Your Friday reminder that GIMP 3.0.0 is set to be released next Sunday, March the 9th -
That is 7 years after the last major release - GIMP 2.10.0 (although the 2.10 series saw incremental features being added)
For 3.0,my favorite change is __non__ destructive editing:
Most filters can be be applied as layer attributes and be re-applied "live".
