Having driven both electric cars and motorbikes, my attitude about hearing the loud VRROOOOM! of a large internal combustion engine has changed.

That is not any longer the sound of going as fast as possible, merely the play, narrative & advertisement of doing so.

The true sound of going fast is the high-pitched whine of coils & the silence of computer control, with the occasional screech of wheels in corners of course.

The true killer is silent, like in nature.

The report, commissioned by Fern to @negawatt, also identifies pathways for a much cleaner transition. A #sufficiency approach, coupled with the right choice of #battery technology (avoiding #nickel and #cobalt in particular), could reduce #deforestation by as much as 82%.

I'm a huge fan of #EVs. Own one & widely recommend them. I hope Tesla survives as an EV manufacturer, but reckon they need to completely split from Musk & his ketamine(?) fever dreams to do so.

I'm not anti most Tesla owners, especially those buying before the insanities.

Reasons I won't buy/recommend a Tesla:
*Musk
*[vapourware] no really, it's coming soon, we promise (again)
*Musk
*No model that suits my needs
*Musk

One change could fix 4 of those 😉
