Schade, dass sie die Plugin-Funktion von Joplin nicht erwähnten. Damit könnte man auch die benannte Fadesse der fehlenden Fotos in der Artikelliste "beheben".

I had been thinking I'd like to quit #Evernote for some time, and Evernote finally pushed me to make the leap by suddenly trying to extort more money from me for the same service. I installed #Joplin (open source!), exported my Evernote notes, imported them into Joplin, cancelled my Evernote plan, and deleted everything. Coincidentally, my Amazon Prime account expired a few days ago. These days, evil corporations make it easier to quit them by being completely crass about their money grubbing. (And when I say "money grubbing" I include trying to make money off your private data by selling it to LLMs or anyone else.)

Of course, if you do have long-time plans for your personal #knowledgemanagement, you should not use proprietary tools like #Obsidian, #OneNote, #Evernote and alike.

You also should think of switching to a much better (learnability, portability/compatibility, typobility, logic, featureset) markup syntax like #orgdown which is used in #Emacs #Orgmode (among other tools).

But if you start with Org-mode, you need to know the right way of doing it, as so many web pages recommend. Here's my take:

If you're using #Microsoft #OneNote, you will face disadvantages when you don't switch to #Windows11 soon:

For anything that requires a certain amount of privacy/security, for anything long-term (avoiding #lockin effects), OneNote was a bad idea in the first place.

¿Alguien sabe cómo exportar las notas de #Evernote? Hará más de diez años que no lo uso, pero estoy haciendo limpieza de cuentas y al entrar he encontrado mis antiguas libretas. Veo que se pueden pasar a #Obsidian y a #Joplin, pero no encuentro la forma de descargarlas.

EDITADO: hay que instalarse el cliente de escritorio para poder exportar tus datos, no se ofrece la posibilidad mediante web.

Ach mensch… #Komoot geht jetzt den Weg von #Evernote. Gleiches Haus. Innovationen einstampfen und Geld verdienen. Fair, weil transparent.
Aber nicht mein Ding. Die nutzen vor allem den Lock-in Effekt.

i podobnie jak Ray, mam mega mieszane uczucia, co do przyszłości tejże platformy.

Käyttääkö kukaan enää Evernotea? Käytin ennen paljon ja monella laitteella, ensin ilmaiseksi ja sitten jonkin aikaa maksullisesti, mutta sitten koko homma meni jotenkin vessaan, OS-sovellus lakkasi toimimasta ym. Nyt pystyn käyttämään sovellusta ilmaiseksi enää puhelimella ja mietin, mitä tehdä tuolle reilun tuhannen muistiinpanon vinttikomerolle. Tuskinpa moni niistä on edes tarpeen, en tiiä.

Ostras, allá por octubre alguien recomendó #CherryTree y yo sabía que en algún momento querría probarlo para sustituir a #Joplin (que hace más de un año me puse para sustuituir a #Evernote y está siendo un chasco para mí). Hoy por fin he entrado en su web oficial y tiene MUY BUENA PINTA.

Lo instalaré y miraré qué tal va el traspaso de libretas y notas de una aplicación a la otra.

Versionsänderungen bei PHP und MySQL zerschossen den Blog, der Webhoster war auch nicht sonderlich hilfreich.

Nach vielen vergeblichen Versuchen nun endlich die Migration gelungen.

I migrated from #evernote to @joplinapp , because Evernote in the browser performed bad for me. Their upselling messages got on my nerves.

To synchronize my devices, I used file sync with #syncthing . But the synchronization performance wasn't very good to my mobile.

I recently discovered self-hosting with Joplin Server, even for arm64. Thanks to the community for their great work.

Now it works with a custom CA for my home lab and my Android device. I love it. Notes taken is fun again.

It might feel odd to write about #Evernote at the very end of 2024. As a business, it has been a total disaster. As a tool, however, it was a fantastic precursor to every other PKM tool that followed.When people ask me what I still miss in #ObsidianMD this short list of features is a great start.

Dipping several toes into the #Joplin self-hosted water this morning, as my longstanding #Evernote sub finally ends tomorrow.

Now running Joplin desktop, importing my Evernote note export from a git tool, plus Joplin Server on a Pi 5 with NVMe hat behind 2 nginx proxies running double certbot.

Not sure why everyone doesn't just self-host.

Jaja, noem het maar klein leed. Maar het feit dat #Evernote de mailfunctie er uit gesloopt heeft is toch onbegrijpelijk? Zou na 15 jaar fanatiek gebruik wel eens de reden kunnen zijn om er mee te stoppen.
