@Sirs0ri I'd recommend to stick with #Kingston (they source different chips, often SK Hynix) #Samsung (they make their own chips) and #Crucial (which is #Micron's retail brand)...

  • They are good quality, reliable and work, and most importantly, you'll most likely find them on the #QVL of the #mainboard aka. they are known to work & certified by the mainboard vendor. You'll find it in the manual / documentation of the mainboard.

  • Always look for the precise SKU of said kit to enshure it works. Espechally when it comes to #ECC, "ranks" and speeds.

  • If your case has a crammed interior, make shure to check the dimensions as some "low density" Server-SODIMMs are not only ECC but also quite tall and may collide with some desktop coolers.

Nou,
#okdoei .

#Amazon's Ocelot #quantum chip uses 'cat qubits' to 'reduce error correction by up to 90%'
#AWS seems to be prioritizing is quantum error correction, cat #qubits–named after schrödinger's cat–intrinsically suppress certain forms of errors, reducing resources required for error correction. What exactly then is a "cat qubit"? Apparently, just a form of qubit with some forms of quantum error correction built in from the ground up. Basically, a qubit equivalent to #ECC RAM.

#Petizione:

What isn't linked from those four pages above, however, is the one gem I had been pointed to some time ago. And hadn't made the connection that this was the same person!

Michael Driscoll's «The Animated Elliptic Curve» really helped me in understanding Elliptic Curve Cryptography with its wonderful, well-described animations which you can replay until you understand them.

I've updated my tutorial on how to monitor #ECC memory on #Linux to include information about the kernel_lockdown LSM, and how to make it work when it's enabled.

Long story short, you can still monitor corrected & uncorrected memory errors with kernel lock-down enabled, but only using integrity mode. rasdaemon is incompatible with kernel lock-down confidentiality mode, as it deliberately hides kernel information from userspace applications.

Just another blog · Monitoring ECC memory on Linux with rasdaemonIf you have a workstation built around an AMD Ryzen/Threadripper or Intel Xeon processor chances are you're using ECC memory. ECC memory is a worthy investment to improve the reliability of your machi
