a couple more of "The B-Roll", trying to get its full tail, and one of the whole body, wings included, but with less detail
gorgeous dragonfly sitting on a bush outside a neighbor's apartment yesterday unfortunately I wasn't able to get one that was both in focus AND caught his full wingspan, so this was the best I was able to do... I was impressed and appreciative of how patient he was with me getting all up in his business; I suspect it was probably just cold out and he wanted to conserve energy as much as possible.
Platycnemis latipes.

I’m trying to establish a more butterfly/pollinator/hummingbird-friendly #garden around the house this year, part of that is putting in mostly #Texas native plants. Not seeing many butterflies yet - most of the plants are not yet in bloom - but I did have a recent visit from this blue dasher #dragonfly.
#TGIF A long week has come to an end. Kengo and nature wish you a good restful evening and a peaceful weekend.
On the way home earlier, I paid attention to the mountain roads with their bends, the cyclists and hikers, and at the same time, recognised a #dragonfly at the edge of the forest. Today I'm really happy with my brain.

Dragonfly's Pause
I find this image serenely appealing, though I'm not certain I got the composition just right. Look closely, and you'll see a dragonfly perched on the tip of the dried branch. It's not possible to determine the species of the dragonfly from this photo—only that it is, indeed, a dragonfly.
I don’t upload all the photos I share here to my Pixels gallery. I only post my personal favorites, while some don’t make the cut. I usually give myself a couple of days to decide how I feel about them before uploading.
