Went to the Coast today to celebrate hubs' birthday. Lunch at the #Chowder Bowl (best chowder ever) then to the #OregonCoastAquarium. My favorite exhibit is #PassagesOfTheDeep.

Smoke salmon chowder. Made with smoked salmon pieces, vegetables, capers, and cream cheese. One a year is enough for me.

What’s for dinner? Corn and vegetable chowder.

Baking #bread yesterday, I made a couple of small boules which I thought would be fun to use as bread bowls for #chowder.

Being a holiday, with stores closed, I managed to find some canned mussels and have put together a chowder based on those. Hope it won't taste weird.

Haven't done the #breadBowl myself before. Last had one a visit to Nice. Hope there's no trick to avoiding leaks! I assume I just hollow it out a bit and fill 'er up. Fingers crossed.

Incidentally if anyone fancies making this recipe, I’d probably put a little less cream in it but that’s just personal preference. The lemon is a must.
