Joan of Cat (she/her) 😼I'm always surprised at how unpleasant people can be.Today, I mentioned my <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/NieR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#NieR</a> / <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/FFXIV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#FFXIV</a> crossover <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/roleplay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#roleplay</a> series. Now, to be clear, I only mentioned that it existed and included aspects of NieR from both games and its prequels, <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Drakengard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Drakengard</a>.Random, toxic person replied with "that doesn't make sense in the actual lore." An interesting conclusion, given how little they know about how I chose to weave the lore of both universes together.I'll never understand this reply. Given the amount of time I've spent researching the lore for both universes, only Naoki <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Yoshida" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Yoshida</a> or <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/YokoTaro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#YokoTaro</a> are qualified to tell me whether or not the lore works together well or not. And even then, given that they're professionals who know how to build a world, they wouldn't bother to make such ridiculous comments without even bothering to ask any clarifying questions.Personally, I think they'd be impressed. In much the same way as all of my players have told me that they are. If someone took my original stories and adapted them to tell <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/RP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#RP</a> <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/fanfiction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#fanfiction</a> tales of their own, I'd be more than impressed; I'd be honored. And both Yoshida and Yoko Taro deserve these honors and more.Lore police are awful, toxic people, and I really, really wish they had the self-awareness to keep their shitty opinions to themselves.
