Be worth keeping an eye on.

I discover Wayland Explorer https://wayland.app/protocols/.
Basically this site is to Wayland what MDN is to HTTP/HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
For each extension of the protocol, a page present and documents its API, and at the bottom of the page a summary table indicates for each compositor (Mutter, Kwin, COSMIC...) if the extension is supported, and if so what version of the extension.

If 12 is working for you, then playing it safe is definitely a solid choice.
I mainly moved because I really wanted a newer stable kernel, and I was having some weird wifi issues with the backported kernels.
Also, #KDE #Plasma 6 is NIIIIIIIIICE. Even the #Wayland session. They've settled all the gripes I personally had with it, I think. At least, as far as running KDE-Wayland. Wayland itself still has some issues to iron out, some of which will never be dealt with to everyone's satisfaction.
That's just the way of things. It does feel a bit like a minimalist solution, which is ironically the opposite criticism that systemd gets leveled at it (and mostly quite fairly, IMHO).
SSS (v2.1.29) now rocks a fully modular #emacs config with some nice additions, like controling #spotify from Emacs (with smudge) and some UI tweaks as well as better #rofi, #mako, #alacritty and #waybar and more love to light themes as well as #everforest maybe this makes some #rde users curious :)

What do you think is still missing in #Wayland?
I feel that the last rough edges have been ironed out in the last year. This includes #HDR, #TripleBuffering, #ColorManagement, #SessionRestore implementations, improved #Accessibility, etc.
What important pieces do you think are still missing in Wayland?
