she's always around scouting for food. i don't have good enough videos but she's also a bully. anyway, here's Walnut looking slick. you can also see that her forepaws are dark and have black/brown toebeans while her rear paws are paler buff coloured and they have pink beans.

CHOCOLATE STOUT OLD FASHIONED

3 dashes walnut bitters
½ oz chocolate stout syrup
2 oz Black Blended Rum ❺

Glassware: Old-fashioned
Method: Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with cracked ice and stir. Strain over a large rock with no garnish.

This is my twist on the original from High Proof Preacher on IG a few days ago. I started out with Sazerac rye (in bg of second pic), but ultimately I settled on a totally different base spirit, black blended rum (pouring pic), since it has toasty dark notes that complement the beer so well. I also did some black walnut bitters, trying to lean away from your typical orange vibe in an OF.

For my stout syrup I used Northern Monk Patrons Projects 43.02 — Dunked Chocolate Digestive Decadent Stout.

There has been lots said about 2024 being a poor year for pumpkins and squash in the UK. It has also been notable for: squirrels ring barking sycamore trees, causing a lot of crown death; tiny walnuts; tiny chestnuts. Chestnuts are 25mm max; green walnuts 40mm. Unlikely to have formed a kernel. I have germinated walnuts three years of the last six and chestnuts last year. How to forage walnuts on a hill

It is recommended to wear thin shoe soles to feel the #walnut when stepping on it. Further, any garments with extra pockets will be advantageous like a bike shirt.

  1. One will want to start at the bottom of the hill and #forage upwards.
  2. If the tree permits it and the nuts are ripe enough, one should shake the tree before starting.
  3. In general, one should pick up each nut on first sight, since there is a high likelihood that after the focus is lost, so is the nut.
  4. If a broken shell is found, this should be thrown out of the field of search, such that one doesn’t get distracted by it again.
  5. Best to search from one side of the area to another. If two people are searching then each person does one half of the potential nut fall area. For even more people, using the lane approach including around each tree works well. A lane is considered from bottom to top.
