Quite a productive day off. I built a desk and tried my hardest to cable manage it all.
I'm enjoying the extra space and look forward to standing more often.
Desk is an updown klik desk. Pheasantwood 150x75cm.
Building the desk was the easy part for sure 😅

Today I'm #WFH for #work and so, it's going to be very comfortable outside, with a high in the low 70's (Farhenheit), so I flung all the windows open and put a fan to exhaust to blow all the inside air outside. So my one feline, Keeley, is having a staring match and cosplaying as an apex predator with a bunny. #catsofmastodon #wabbit

Today is a #WFH day for the #FoodBank.
I have a few reports to run and emails to catch up on.

At Noon I shall be meeting with one of the pastors of our local church CenterPointe Christian Church for lunch at Wendy's.
At the meet I shall be informing him of what's going with my head health, and how it is affecting my work hours, church timing, and social life.
If you would like updated please send me a PM.

It's now time to make #Coffee and decide what to have for breakfast.
Take care of yourself my friend, and those around you.

Some may have noticed that I am quite sporadic these days with a morning timed message. They will continue on days I have something to report or say.

Health-wise, I stay the same with on-off focus periods with my brain where I am sharp or need a nap to reset. Naps / Sleep remains only a few hours at a time. #Concussion #PCS

Today starts a new work week with the #FoodBank, which shall be interesting:
Monday: Split shifts of Office and Home.
Tuesday: Work from Home. #WFH
Wednesday: Split shifts of Office and Home.
Thursday: Arianna has a medical procedure for which she is being sedated. I am taking PTO to be her driver and carer.
Friday: PTO
BTW - Saturday: Podcrawl - details here: https://tuxjam.otherside.network/podcrawl/

Over the weekend I completed a designated batch of typing up #Bible extracts from an international local people group. Sent in my completed work to my #MissionAssist supervisor, and received a new batch this morning.

I shall have my first #Coffee of the day at work.
Take care of yourself, and your neighbours.

I can't remember when I've seen something this desperate - reversing a major policy announcement in the middle of an election campaign. Dutton is a blustering idiot; why would you vote for him?

"Peter Dutton has been forced into a costly backflip that shows he has deeper problems in this election campaign than his approach to working from home.

"The opposition leader has made a necessary decision to stage a big policy shift so he can assure Australians – especially women – that he will not force them back to the office."

The Sydney Morning Herald · Three challenges for Dutton in landing the backflip on working from homeBy David Crowe

@ChrisMayLA6 Hybrid working helped people who could get into the office at that specific time, because of health/mobility issues, cared for others, couldn’t afford hours of childcare, or a home nearer work. WFH also helped people that had abuse in the office-based activities often abuse that nobody catches or sees. Power retained by the few, meetings where looks are exchanged around the table each time someone speaks. #WFH enabled and balanced the table for contribution to the workplace.

Jane Hume said that it would be an "expectation" that "all members of the APS work from the office five days a week".

Farking hell, seriously? I work from the office 4-5 days a week (by choice, I like the separation) and I think that a 5 day RTOA mandate is just incredibly dumb. Let the people work from home. If office attendance is low use mostly carrots and incentives to get people in.

A more cynical take is that this is a way to get APS resignations and reduce the headcount.

ABC News · Peter Dutton partially walks back public service work-from-home vowBy Maani Truu

Actually somewhat excited about work today, finally getting privs to an Azure PG instance and testing out some ETL. I've been prepared for months!

But I've been so demotivated by the forced RTO order from our governor that I barely recognize this feeling. It's how I used to feel on the regular, but now I just want to crawl in a corner and scheme with my union brothers and sisters.

Just imagine, if I could continue #WFH, I'd be motivated like this every day! But politics ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Trying to get my brain back into "application analysis and design" mode, for the next big module of my current project. Good thing I'm #WFH and I'm alone. Bad thing when I realize I have a ton of new questions for my users, so I'll have to... talk to people. ugh.

Solo.

I have worked from home since 2013. I enjoy the opportunity to work from home and I am my most productive when I’m not in a cube farm, distracted by the sights and sounds of others around me.

I still miss being around coworkers once in a while.

I look out the window a lot.
