@ai6yr Could not find anywhere other than a handful of apps that could re size the font of Mastadon’s so I uploaded an app called #tusker. It’s another app to get used to but the font size matches my phone now so it’s easier to see👀👋

@IceCubesApp @tusker It eventually started working after about a 30-minute delay. However, a remaining gripe is how much battery it uses, even in an iPhone 15 Pro (39%) within 25 hours. #Tusker and #Mastoot use a fraction of that (<10%). I know #IceCubesApp has more features, but that’s a big difference. Either way, I’ve contributed to the apps and will continue to keep an eye on future updates. Thanks to all the devs for the vibrant third-party client ecosystem.

In just over a month, a wild elephant in India has been captured twice, tranquilised multiple times and relocated over 280km away from its native forest in a bid to keep it away from human settlements in search of food.

In Kerala Arikomban ("rice tusker") has become a "symbol of resilience in the face of injustice," says activist Sreedevi S Kartha.

Fediverse protip:

In web masto-fe, in Preferences set "Advanced UI", then back in the main screen, search #WWDC23 or whatever, hit the 3 seashells, +Pin, and you have a permanent feed of that hashtag.

Mastonaut: Teeny little search icon, same thing. I'm not sure what the two column icons are. Bookmark and some mystery meat box with X. <?>

Tusker: Add hashtag, three dots, Save Hashtag. You have to manually open it.

After checking out some 15+ Mastodon clients I believe these free apps are worth your trouble (except Ivory, that one I am subscribed to).

Ice Cubes is slowly growing on me as a winner among these, but Tooot is very promising too. Mammoth is loaded with features but it's unreliable. Metatext is not actively developed, but otherwise excellent. Ivory UI "feels" amazing to use, but it's low on features (early access).
