UK #TransRights org Trans_Lucent has created a carry card with likely input from trans barrister Robin Moira White which they shared on Twitter.

This seems like it might be useful for trans folk to carry as a legal citation if you want.

I wrote reasonableaccess.org.uk/resour about challenging disability discrimination and access refusals - similar things apply to trans folk challenging discrim.

I am aware of the UK Supreme Court riling in For Women Scotland v Scottish Ministers [2025] UKSC 16. However, this ruling is incompatible with the European Convention on Human Rights which the UK ratified in 1951, in particular Article 8 'Respect for private and family life'. This was decided in the case of Goodwin v UK [2002] 35 EHRR 447 which provided that contracting states must have an effective method of acknowledging gender-change. Amelio Robles Ávila was a colonel during the Mexican revolution in the early 1900s. He changed his name in the 1920s, but it wasn’t until much later that he was able to change his military records and be recognised as a “Veteran of the Revolution”. Trans people have always been part of our history, but often their stories don’t get told or their identities are erased.
