Sometimes -- well, most of the time -- even when I'm not happy about the painting, I take photos and put it up on my catalog site, then post it on Mastodon. Taking the photo helps in figuring out what's wrong. Posting it on Mastodon also helps very much to see it objectively. Also the reaction I get here is very encouraging, even when it's not very favorable. The artists and art lovers here are amazing.

The Santa Fe Trail, heavily used by wagon trains, linked Eastern US and Mexico and cut through this corner of Cimarron County from 1820s to 1860s.
Rugged, remote and lawless, it became a popular hideout for criminals. The Notorious gang of William Coe's headquarters "Robbers Roost" was located near here. April 22, 1899, No Man's Land officially became part of the Oklahoma Territory.
