About #MBSE practice, we discussed the assumptions behind the functional interfaces represented in an N^2 matrix, the limitations of activity diagrams in #SysML 1 or the difficulties to chose the adecuate abstraction level to keep your modeling consistent.

Hi everyone, here's my #introduction

I'm a 6th year (!!) PhD Student aka PhD candidate at UC Berkeley. I am advised by Joe Hellerstein and research #sysml & #mlops

I moved to Berkeley from Arizona, where I went to college for 7 years 🥵 first half spent studying philosophy and the second half in comp sci. The humanities background is coming in clutch as I write my dissertation.

I'm also a proud dad to a 9 mo. old baby and 3 yo. chihuahua

I brought up the possibility of the university sponsoring #FLOSS development on this #UML / #SysML / RAAML tool called Gaphor and it was rejected immediately, apparently because the department's policy is to teach industry-standard tools.

but we don't have academic licenses for those industry-standard tools!

so the students are kinda floundering because the best tools are thousands of dollars, out of reach by individual customers.
