Sini TuuliaI have washed some oh gods I think like 16 metres of linen lace, and it's all skronkled and shrunkled up, and the correct procedure after this, the pre-shrinkening, is to gently iron them straight after a tiny bit of drying. This, of course, stops them from shrinking once they're on a garment that gets washed... Chris 🏳️‍🌈🧵🧝🏼Putting in welted pockets on suede is… different. Unlike with most leather, you can’t use a hammer to set the seam when turned as it’ll crush the nap. So it’s all just finger pressed. If this were wool, I’d be horrified at the smooshey corners. It's a free pattern, super simple, basically just one big front piece and one big back piece sewn together but plenty of sewalongs available in case of confusion. It taught me what a facing is, and it has pockets! AI6YR BenOkay, additional tool acquired for furniture reupholstery project. Singer 201 sewing machine. Runs, but needs to be oiled. Apparently it was working but now not moving correctly... clearly a lubrication issue. Will appy teak oil to the furniture part while waiting for sewing machine oil to arrive. Sini TuuliaPut on the sleeves, finished the rest of the inside seams, and am now putting on buttonholes on the little linen blouse.
