Shrimp Thief

In this image, a laughing gull (Leucophaeus atricilla) is captured mid-flight, having just snatched a shrimp from the water. Upon closer inspection, the shrimp is visible in the gull's beak, along with droplets of water suspended in the air from its dramatic takeoff. Meanwhile, in the lower left corner, a sanderling (Calidris alba) strolls by, passing a piece of driftwood resting on the sandy shore.

Mudflat Wanderer

The textures of the low tide mudflats make this photograph of a foraging sanderling (Calidris alba) captivating, especially with its reflection in the shallow water between the rises. Look closely, and you'll notice a tiny, barely visible morsel in the bird's beak.

I've had several inquiries about how to get prints of my photographs. Photography is a hobby for me, so I haven't been equipped to handle those requests. However, I enjoy what I'm doing and want to share my work.

To make it easier, I set up an account and website with Pixels. You can visit my website at:

If you want a print of one of my photographs, you can get it there. If I haven't uploaded the photo you want, let me know which one it is, and I'll gladly upload it for you.

Tidal Pool Runner

I love these images of birds moving across water, they convey action - they're fun. This is a sanderling (Calidris alba) and even though the bird isn't quite in focus, it is enjoyable.

"The Sanderling is one of the world’s most widespread shorebirds. Though they nest only in the High Arctic, in fall and winter you can find them on nearly all temperate and tropical sandy beaches throughout the world." - allaboutbirds.org

Looking Good

This sanderling (Calidris alba) appears to study its reflection in the water. I'm sure is just foraging for food.

"The Sanderling is one of the world’s most widespread shorebirds. Though they nest only in the High Arctic, in fall and winter you can find them on nearly all temperate and tropical sandy beaches throughout the world. The Ruddy Turnstone and the Whimbrel are the only other shorebirds that rival its worldwide distribution." - allaboutbirds.org

Who are you going to call, Ghostbusters of course, but before you do that, visit my photo gallery at:
