Edit (9PM Eastern): pushing the stream out to 9:30,kiddos refuse to go to sleep.

Tonight at 9 PM Eastern, I'll be getting back to #Zig! The emulator is going to need graphics, so we'll start with just getting something on the screen.

I'll be trying to get raylib running on Linux, which I have failed to do once, but succeeded on Mac.

Heyo, I'm new to Wafrn and a former Cohost user. I love retro computers and I may blog about it from time to time.

Why Wafrn? Most fedi stuff is too "fast" for my tastes. Even the Mastodon instance I'm signed onto has a 500 character limit, but I'm used to writing in-depth posts about my adventures with old devices or retro computers or whatever.

I may get the ball rolling by posting some of my older and newer write-ups on here, and test to see how I like this platform. I hope to meet new friends and stuff.

These last days I've actually implemented the things I wanted to do since a while in my 6502 debugger, and it now counts cycles with page-crossing penalties, resolves y-indirect "($nn), y" memory accesses, warns me when a function returns with a stack imbalance.

It can now also exclude files or segments from the symbol-resolving, which is good when your projects have nine opponents sharing the same segment at different times.

I'm impatient to use all that extra help on my next project!

3dfx Voodoo 5 now works with ReactOS!

Today is a good day for retrocomputing fans as they can now use ReactOS with the old 3dfx Voodoo 5 graphics card that was powerful at its time. Congratulations!

ReactOS is an “open-source Windows” operating system that provides support for most Windows applications that support Windows XP using the NT 5.2 compatibility layer. Games can now run with ReactOS on computers that use the 3dfx Voodoo 5 graphics card.

You can now run such games with the old binary drivers for the Voodoo 5 “VSA-100” that are built for Windows. This graphics card is compatible with ReactOS, because the compatibility layer works very well with it. However, further patches may be required to further improve the retro gaming experience.

If you want full performance out of your Voodoo 5 during your gaming sessions, you must install MesaFX/WickedGL.
