As federal employee, just can't support ICE or FBI involved in immigration or judge arrests...

I probably have never posted on here as a primary poster (or, if so, I have forgotten), but I am federal worker, a National Park Service employee. One of the few bright spots of Trump's election has been getting to hear on r/fednews from so many more employees of the federal government - so many agencies that I would never directly deal with... DOD, DOE, VA, etc. As many have noted before, r/fednews used to be comfortably boring, talking about which was the best dental plan. Recently, it has been amazing to realize that, even if we do such different jobs, there is such a community between all of us. Literally, this website has been a lifeline, and reading the heart-rending stories of employees who all got laid off and who (God forbid) committed suicide, because of the stress that this administration is putting all of us under actually lead to an incident of shingles for me. I actually had to stop reading r/fednews, because I was crying every night reading every person's stories. I have come to feel such a community for every federal worker, even though I am pretty isolated working at one somewhat remote park. However, I just want to say right now that I cannot support anyone working for ICE or any FBI agents that are basically invoking the illegal will of our authoritarian overlord. Not sure how you go to sleep at night...I had no ill will towards you folks before, but the videos I see of what you are doing is horrific. There is a certain point where you have to decide whether it's better to take the moral high road or submit to authoritanism. The atrocities are mounting (i.e., students, Judge Duggan, people here legally), and I wonder how you sleep at night. At least, I can do that, even if I continue to mourn the continued loss of our federal workforce. Shame.

It's late in the article but is the nugget.Personal opinion as someone who works in the Pentagon, in offices that receive direct guidance from politicals: DoD is rolling along just fine at the moment.... Standard yearly products are still coming out as usual. Thankfully there are a few of us around that know how things work.I just find it striking this administration can't find a money person for DoD. Just wow. Finally some good news. I just hope it sticks.

Our leadership announced last week that they do not plan to RIF our office. Our agency did its own DRP and VERA earlier this month. The goal was to keep everyone that wants to be here and avoid anyone losing their job. We were told that we may lose positions but we won't be losing people (not sure how that work). Other good news my entire department was classified as essential and we were told that we would be completely left alone and they are even moving forward to backfill some positions. I pray this ends soon. The one major benefit of Fed work was job security and its now gone. Moral in my office is at an all time low, I just want things to go back to normal.

From: *IRS Human Capital Officer Sent: Friday, April 25, 2025 7:00 AMTo: &&Managers AllImplementation of Executive Order 14251, Exclusions from Federal Labor-Management Relations Programs On March 27, 2025, President Trump signed Executive Order 14251, Exclusions from Federal Labor-Management Relations Programs (Exclusions) and the Office of Personnel Management issued guidance, directing that the Federal Service Labor-Management Relations Statute will no longer apply to several federal government agencies, to include the Department of the Treasury, and all covered bureaus, with the exception of Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The IRS is not terminating the 2022 National Agreement/2025 Addendum pending on-going litigation. However, based on additional guidance from OPM and Treasury on April 22, 2025, the following actions are required to comply with Exclusions: •              All negotiated grievances, information requests, arbitrations and negotiations will be held in abeyance pending litigation for Exclusions and/or any additional guidance provided by OPM and/or Treasury.•              Union officials/representatives will no longer be invited to formal discussions or Weingarten meetings (investigative interviews).•              Bank or official time will no longer be approved. Employees must only conduct agency-assigned work during their scheduled duty time.•              Treasury and National Finance Center (NFC) will no longer facilitate the collection and payment of union dues.•              FMSS and IT will develop plans to reclaim any agency space, furniture and equipment previously utilized by labor unions for representational activities. Additional information can be found on the Workforce Updates page. More details and guidance will be shared with employees in Monday’s edition of IRS Headlines. For assistance, managers should contact Labor Employee Relations and Negotiations (LERN) via IRS Service Central or call the LERN support gate to speak to an HR Specialist at ##, Option 1 and Option 6.
