I tried using the Open Street Map app #OSMand in #Japan and it was so bad I don't know where to begin. Incredibly, OSMand does not understand how Japanese addresses work, because it apparently assumes all addresses must be "street" addresses. There is no such thing as a "street address" in Japan. Addresses go by neighborhoods, not streets. Most streets in Japan don't even have names. Second, all directions were ridiculously speeded up. At least twice as fast as normal spoken Japanese. My experiences trying to get from A to B in a car using OSMand were a bad joke. This app, at least in Japan, is not even at "alpha" stage. #OpenStreetMap
