Some healthy looking moss about, given all this rain. This picture taken by the little guy (5 years old). #Mosstodon
#WildGarlicWednesday
Ross Island was beautiful. Native Irish woodland carpeted with Wild Garlic. Some boggy areas off the path and scenic lake views. We saw 2 deer grazing in the distance. Very peaceful and green

I think this is a first for me here. Found a Liverwort growing at the base of my fern outside. Odd little critter..
Mushroom log or tree stump fountain? Which do you prefer?
Before I came to Mastodon, I had no idea I wasn’t the only geek to have a thing about moss.

Waterfall at Peter Tavy coombe last week, #Dartmoor, #Devon. #photography #mosstodon I love doing these slow shutter photos of water… when I first fell ill I couldn’t arrange a tripod to do them and I missed it dreadfully. Eventually I got a mini tripod and a lightweight SLR and that worked ! Far from being a special effect it’s one of the oldest forms of photography, the early cameras didn’t have any shutter speeds, the lens cap was taken off and a stopwatch was used.
@PuppyFromLosAndes what's a reply pup?
If you're getting bored on Mastodon, try following some hashtags. Pick a few dozens and you'll have an awesome vivid timeline. I can barely keep up!
Check out cool tags like #carryshitolympics, #visiblerepair, #solarpunk #bloomscrolling #lichensubscribe, #mosstodon or #insects if you're into that kind of things. Discovering new cool tags is also a fun experience
Another new moss! Really need to find a northwest moss expert somewhere to help me start figuring these out. There have been very few moss observations here and almost every one of mine would be extending the iNat range of the genus or family, which makes me a little hesitant to claim a species based on the Computer Vision alone
Anyway… this beautiful little friend was growing near the banks of the river, which seemed like an interesting place
