Reader on macOS now supports the same `wiseread://` x-callback-url scheme URLs as the iOS app:

- `wiseread://new` (opens Inbox)
- `wiseread://later` (opens Later)
- `wiseread://shortlist` (opens Shortlist, if that workflow is used)
- `wiseread://archive` (opens Archive)
- `wiseread://search` (opens Search)
- `wiseread://read/{ID}` (opens document by ID)

I've updated my Readwise LaunchBar action to open URLs directly in the Reader app now: github.com/quinncomendant/Read

@ia Wow! I didn't realize this was already working. Nice! This let me build a nice automation (#LaunchBar action) to correct text with ChatGPT. Any chance you'll add support for this to the #AppleScript library on Mac or #Shortcuts? Currently, I need to use UI scripting. It's working but it's hard to share because of the custom naming of sources. Something like this would be ideal:

Fed up with #macOS' #Spotlight. No fuzzyfinder, in 2024; no real drilldown; the way it organizes/sorts results are unintuitive. I shouldn't have to remember what /format/ a document is to go "oh right I oughtta scroll down a bunch to see PDFs” 😩

What's good for alternative launcher/finder tools these days? AFAIK, it's still down to the same candidates from ~10ya, ie #Alfred, #Quicksilver, #Launchbar? (EDIT: Raycast enters the chat! Tho its AI focus is worrying.)

See poll!

There seems to have been some subtle change in the way #macOS works when text services pass text off to an app.

In my experience, this used to bring the target app window to the foreground AND make it the the active app, but now it only does the former - ie it brings the window up with no focus.

As a result after I do my #LaunchBar voodoo to (for example) shoot text into MacVim, my cursor is still in the original app and bad things happen :\

Anybody else notice anything like this?

One of my oldest favorite #macOS apps is #Launchbar. In the last few years I had set it aside, but I'm back in the paid-user fold again.

I don't have time right now for a full encomium, but: Over the past 15-20 years I've tried every app purporting to compete with Launchbar, on Mac and Linux both, and found nothing that beats it, for me.
