This is a ‘selfie’ during a ‘TransLancs’ ride—the length of Lancashire (actually Rochdale to Arnside, because of railway stations), taking in two major off-road sections: the Salter Fell track across the Forest of Bowland, but first, seen here, the amazing Cotton Famine Road over Rooley Moor.

Time for something a little different.

Before I moved to Cumbria, I lived in Preston for many happy years. It is a forward-facing, youthful, vibrant, and exciting little city. These murals, which you can do a circuit of, are a reflection of these characteristics.
