Angela
It was local yarn shop day today, and we have a new-ish one that I had not been to yet. So after lunch, I took a gander.

They stock a lot of thin yarn, which is not really my thing. I like worsted or aran. Sometimes even bulky. I don't knit a lot of socks and I don't do lace. I might use DK weight here and there ( like for mittens) but that's about as thin as I normally like to go.

That said, they did have some beautiful yarn. I had a hard time not snatching up some of the loveliness, but I didn't know what on earth I would knit with it.

I ended up with a new crochet hook and two skeins of a lovely green yarn. The hook is for more weird hats (like the snail shell hat), and I will use the green yarn to make a headband and gauntlets.

I had made some green gauntlets a long time ago but they have disappeared. I have no idea where they went - I usually wore them on St. Patrick's Day.

I don't even have a very good picture of them.

The yarn I got today is a darker green than what I used before, but I think I will be just as happy with the gauntlets. I love the cables and how far up my arms they went.

#Knitting #LocalYarnShopDay
