Published in 1922, The Beautiful and the Damned by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Set in New York City, the plot follows a young artist Anthony Patch and his flapper wife Gloria Gilbert who become "wrecked on the shoals of dissipation" while excessively partying at the dawn of the hedonistic Jazz Age.

I’ve created a new series titled Glamour Girls of the Twenties that showcases the flappers and glamorous ladies of the Roaring 20’s, also known as the Jazz Age. It was a decade of flappers, bootleggers, bathtub gin, raccoon coats, prosperity and good times. I hope you enjoy these ladies as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Somerset Maugham's 1944 classic "The Razor's Edge," set among the edgy soul-sick youth of the Jazz Age's Lost Generation but not written until an entire generation afterwards by someone now in his seventies, and feeling like it through every torturous, tedious page. Somerset Maugham's 1944 The Razor's Edge because of a "movie scavenger hunt" I'm doing over at Letterboxd (i.e. Goodreads for film nerds), in which one of the tasks will have me watching both the 1946 adaptation with Tyrone Powers and the 1984 adaptation with Bill Murray, and I wanted to read the book first so I'd have a common base to compare them both to. But holey moley, what an unreadable mess this turned out to be, for a book that's now so famous! The problem here lies right in that year mentioned above that this was publish...
